Cm house is a rehabilitation project of an existing residential building, about 30 km north of the city of Milan in a countryside area.

The intervention concerns the creation of a new roof floor and the restructuring of two existing floors, with an energy efficiency, since the existing building was lacking in quality and built with a low insulation index.

For that the external walls was covered by a thermally-insulating coating and the interior spaces have been revolutionized generating open spaces positioned around the new element of the stove, star-shaped and covered with precious hand-made majolica by Sicilian artisans, according to an ancient tradition, but in a contemporary line of work. The goal is to create a real “heart” of the home, a place to gather around the “hearth”. The intervention is a contemporary reinterpretation of a system that plans to produce heat with a very limited amount of wood that are managed to heat the entire house for the whole day.
